🩺 Now Accepting Applications: McMaster-PEI Collaborative Hospitalist Fellowship


The McMaster–PEI Collaborative Hospitalist Fellowship is a one-of-a-kind, one-year training program designed for internationally trained internal medicine specialists (ITPs) and ABIM-certified physicians looking for a direct pathway to independent specialist licensure in Canada.


✅ Features of this Program:


  • 13 (4-week) blocks of advanced hospital-based training

  • Rotations Include:

       -      4 blocks in inpatient hospitalist/medicine 

       -      1 block in Stroke, Cardiology, ICU, Geriatrics, and Palliative Care

       -       ½ block in Addictions Medicine

       -       Selectives and electives based on your clinical interests


  • Majority of training takes place at Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton

  • Return of service agreement with Health PEI

  • Only program in Canada offering a route to independent internal medicine practice within 1 year of training


Designed for:


  • Canadian or American trained internist (ABIN)  seeking Canadian experience.

  • Canadian ITPs with existing Internal Medicine specialization eligible for independent practice in Canada.

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are eligible to write the Royal College IM exam via the practice eligibility route (PER)
